Eco Business Center
Eco Business Center

In every Eco Village we design, we assist the community's efforts in building and developing an on-site business center designed to incubate new eco-businesses, employing members with income generation activities that are congruent with the principles and mission of the community and the personal values of the entrepreneur. All members benefit from the success of the eco-enterprises run by our members through the Eco Enterprise Center. With multiple projects providing multiple profit centers, the potential for the community's Collaborative Enterprises is substantial, sustainable and robust.

Community Members that want to access the resources and support of the Eco Enterprise Center can do so by joining the center as an "Enterprise Member". This gives them access to many support systems which can lower the costs of running their business while increasing sales and as a result their profitability.

The Eco Enterprise Center often features shared facilities and resources to support the needs of our community-based businesses. Like a small business club, the center can provide expertise and assistance in areas ranging from business planning, sourcing, manufacturing, communications, administration and marketing for its members. Only Enterprise Members can apply to have a business idea incubated by the Eco Enterprise Center. However, all members can volunteer, intern or potentially be employed by the eco-enterprises based within our community. In this way, eco-employment is and will continue to be available to our communities.

Eco Enterprises

In many cases the Eco Enterprise Center can get involved in incubating several business activities both for the community itself as well as individual members. The incubation or acceleration support provided by the centre can take many forms but they are all designed to facilitate the growth on the communities local economy.

The only criteria for incubation is that the projects be sustainable, but it can be in any sector from green building design and build services, eco landscaping, permaculture design, organic food production, heritage seeds and nursery, organic beekeeping, passive solar-heated green houses, passive solar-heating and cooling systems, healthy home design and decorating, eco products, natural health products and services, eco education, community shared agriculture (CSA) and currency systems. The kinds of green enterprises developed in Eco villages are as varied as the interests of its residents. The Eco Enterprise Centre is there not only to grow our coummunity based businesses but to help you as a member grow your green enterprise skill sets and income.

The profits from our Eco Enterprise Center community business intitiatives are reinvested in the resources available to the Center as well as into resources that are available to all community members.
